Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal

Prepared an Audience Development Plan for the candidate World Heritage Site comprising the Pontcysyllte and Chirk Aqueducts and the associated 11 mile stretch of the Llangollen Canal. This was created to engage local communities; attract a more diverse range of audiences; disperse visitors along the entire canal corridor and inform the World Heritage Site Management Plan. Focus Groups with local residents informed the proposals. Recommendations were made for physical access improvements; volunteer development; training; education; marketing and interpretation. Prepared for British Waterways Wales and Border Counties and the World Heritage Site Steering Group.
